Suhail Chandhok is an Indian actor and TV presenter. He is a commentator with Star Sports and has hosted events of sports like Cricket, Hockey, Football, and Kabaddi. He is the son of Vicky Chandhok, the multiple Indian rallying champion and President of the Federation of Motor Sports Club of India. His elder brother, Karun Chandhok, is one of the two Formula 1 racing drivers from India.

Suhail did his schooling from Chennai’s Sishya School and went to the University of Adelaide, Australia, to pursue a double major degree in Management and Marketing (Commerce). Suhail Chandhok’s father, Vicky Chandhok, is a former racing and rally driver and the President of the FIA Asia-Pacific Rally Championship. His mother’s name is Chitra Chandhok. He has an elder brother, Karun Chandhok, who is an F1 racer from India.

Suhail Chandhok got married to Trishya Screwvala, daughter of Ronnie Screwvala (entrepreneur & philanthropist), on 19 January 2017 in a private wedding. The wedding was held at Taj Mahal Palace in Mumbai. It was followed by a reception at the Turf Club, Mahalaxmi Racecourse, which was attended by a number of celebrities and industrialists.
Suhail started his career as a cricketer in 2009 by playing in the Indian Premier League from the cricket team Royal Challengers Bangalore. He also played Champions League Twenty20 in 2009. He played the game for two years, and subsequently, resigned from the game owing to acute knee injuries and multiple surgeries.
On being forced to give up his cricketing dreams, Suhail, who was equally fascinated with the camera, made a short film under the name ‘Johnny Vetrivel.’ He uploaded the video on YouTube that gained quite some attention.
His father shared the video’s link to the South Indian actor Ajith Kumar, who suggested his name for a role in the Tamil film “Arrambam” (2013). Subsequently, he appeared in the film “Veeram” (2014) as Kumaran.
In 2015, Suhail became a sports presenter and commentator at Star Sports. He has hosted sports events of many popular games like Cricket, Football, Hockey, and Pro Kabaddi among others. As far as cricket is concerned, Chandhok has hosted events like “ICC World Cup 2015,” “ICC T20 WC 2016,” “ICC Champions Trophy 2017” for Star Sports, and the “Indian Premier League.” He has also presented some international events including “Rio Olympics 2016,” the global “FIA Formula E Series,” and the “French Open.”
Besides being a commentator and a sports presenter, Suhail is also a public speaker. He has appeared as a public speaker on various platforms like MRF, PUMA, TATA Motors, GQ India, and Premier Futsal. Chandhok has also shared his written views on various topics of sports in several publications. In 2016, Chandhok executed India’s first Periscope TV chat show “OnTheBall with Suhail.” The show featured celebrities from across the film and sports industry.
